Andra Liv Bokbinderi - "second life", in Swedish. I buy second-hand books already worn by time - the ones nobody else wants - and give them a second life as the cover of a new notebook.

I don't work with pristine collector covers: my whole positioning is honest upcycling. The books I use are battered, yellowed, or incomplete inside - exactly what the second-hand market discards. The cover, though, is usually still in good shape, and that's where the notebook comes in.

The inside paper is always heavyweight paper made for wet media, never office filler - real watercolor stock on select pieces, other art-weight papers on the rest. Each listing states exactly which. Every notebook is hand-sewn with a Coptic stitch, signature by signature, in Sweden.

There's no batch production: what you see in the catalog is what exists, and once it sells, it's gone.
